How to Read the Chart — Color Numbers, Symbols & Order
Every Tsubuzukan pattern is ready to stitch, with color numbers and bead counts. Here is how to read the chart.
What the DB color number means
Each bead has a MIYUKI Delica color number (DB + digits, e.g. DB0310). The bead list on each pattern page shows every color number, its name and the count you need. Give that number to any bead shop and you'll get the exact color.
The bead-list symbols
On square-stitch charts, each cell holds a letter symbol (A, B, C…) that matches a color in the bead list. Same symbol, same bead — that simple.
Peyote charts: numbers are the threading order
Peyote charts use running numbers instead of symbols, laid out so that stitching in number order works the piece. String rows 1–2 left to right, then row 3 right to left, row 4 left to right, and so on. The pink edge at the bottom marks where you start.
Peyote or square is up to you — most patterns offer both. Peyote has little stretch and suits jewelry; square stitch (or loom) gives straight edges, handy for attaching bracelet clasps.
Size and row count
Each pattern shows the finished size (mm), the grid (width × rows) and the total bead count. Sizes assume 11/0 Delica beads. Repeating patterns (backgrounds, bracelets) can be lengthened or shortened by adding or removing rows.
